JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – The Arab world was anticipating a broader regional conflict Monday after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would inflict a “heavy price” on the Iran-aligned Houthis who control northern Yemen after they reached central Israel with a missile on Sunday for the first time.

At the same time, more than a dozen people were reportedly killed in Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said the group struck with a new hypersonic ballistic missile that traveled 2,040 km (1270 miles) in just 11 1/2 minutes.

An Israeli military official said an interceptor hit the missile and fragmented in the air rather than being completely destroyed.

It came while overnight in Gaza, rescuers and medics said Israeli air strikes killed at least 18 people across the Palestinian territory overnight and on Monday morning, including 10 in one attack on a house.

The 10 were killed, and 15 others were reportedly injured when Israel’s military hit the home of the al-Qassas family in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, said a medic at Al-Awda hospital, where the bodies were brought.

Hamas-linked authorities also claimed that six Palestinians were killed in a similar air strike overnight on a house belonging to the Bassal family in Gaza City’s Zeitun neighborhood.

Additionally, two people were said to have died in another overnight air strike in Rafah that targeted a house belonging to the Abu Shaar family.

It was not clear what role Hamas played in the published death toll. Hamas controls the health ministry, and its death toll figures have been disputed.
