WEST PALM BEACH (Worthy News) – Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump was safe after “multiple shots” were fired near his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, several sources say.
The shots reportedly originated outside the course fence line.
U.S. Secret Service agents then opened fire after seeing a person with a firearm near Trump’s golf club, according to sources with close knowledge about the situation.
No injuries were reported.
It was the second time a gunman tried to kill the 45th president in two months.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw told reporters the suspect had taken cover near a chain-link fence between 300-500 yards (274-457 meters) away from Trump.
He conceded, “With a rifle and scope like that, it is not a long distance.”
The motive of the alleged gunman was not immediately clear.
