WASHINGTON/KYIV (Worthy News) – With Ukraine increasingly fearing it could lose the war, the U.S. House of Representatives approved $95 billion in foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel, and other U.S. allies in a move immediately welcomed by Kyiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was “grateful” to both parties in the House and “personally Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track.”

“Thank you, America!” he added on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
“We did our work here, and I think history will judge it well,” said embattled Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who is risking his job to marshal the package to passage.

U.S. President JoeBiden, in a statement, thanked Johnson, Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, and the bipartisan coalition of lawmakers “who voted to put our national security first.”

“I urge the Senate to quickly send this package to my desk so that I can sign it into law, and we can quickly send weapons and equipment to Ukraine to meet their urgent battlefield needs,” the president said.

Democrats and Republicans joined together after a grueling monthslong fight in a bipartisan effort to repel Russia’s invasion while also backing Israel in its war against Hamas and its battle against other Iran-backed groups.

With overwhelming support, the House approved the Ukraine portion, a $61 billion aid package, with some lawmakers cheering and waiving blue-and-yellow flags of Ukraine.

After that, they also backed other aspects of the bill, including support for Israel. The whole package will go to the U.S. Senate, where passage in the coming days is nearly assured, observers say. U.S. President Joe Biden has promised to sign it immediately.
