(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a threat to the Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, warning that if hostilities along the Israeli-Lebanese border did not cease, Beirut would face consequences similar to Gaza.
Netanyahu paid a visit to the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) Northern Command headquarters on Thursday, threatening Hezbollah against escalating the conflict into a full-blown war. He alluded to the potential for a ground invasion of southern Lebanon.
“If Hezbollah decides to open an all-out war, then with its own hands it will turn Beirut and southern Lebanon, which are not far from here, into Gaza and Khan Yunis,” Netanyahu stated while meeting with Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) Northern Command Headquarters in the Upper Galilee, near the Lebanese border.
Tragically, on Thursday, a 60-year-old Israeli farmer lost his life when Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile from southern Lebanon into the town of Mattat in Northern Israel.
Since the ceasefire ended last week, daily crossfire exchanges have occurred between Hezbollah and Israel. Over the last two months, Hezbollah has consistently fired multiple rockets and missiles into Israeli territory on a nearly daily basis.
On Thursday, the Hezbollah reported the death of three additional members, bringing the total death toll to 92 since October 7th.
