(Worthy News) – A US-brokered normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia is “getting closer,” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) announced in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia has been an official enemy of Israel since the Israeli War of Independence, but there has been a growing rapprochement between the countries in recent years.

MbS’ interview in English was given just before Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden also spoke openly about the tripartite agreement in the making during their meeting at the United Nations in New York, Ynet said.

Although Netanyahu faces challenges from within his own government, he even went so far as to link an Israeli-Saudi normalization deal to “peace with the Palestinians,” Ynet reports.

In any event, MbS told Fox News: “Every day we are getting closer to an agreement with Israel.” At the same time, MbS said, a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian was a matter of serious consideration. “For us, the Palestinian issue is very important. We need to solve that part,” MbS said. “And we have a good negotiations continue until now.”

“We got to see where we go, MbS added. “We hope that will reach a place, that it will ease the life of the Palestinians, get Israel as a player in the Middle East,” he said.
