KIYV/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has blamed an alleged Russian agent for Tuesday’s attack on the eastern city of Kramatorsk that killed nearly a dozen people, including children.

He warned that the suspect will be charged with treason as those helping Russia destroy lives deserve the “maximum penalty.”

Eleven people, including three teenagers, were killed in Tuesday’s missile strike on a pizza restaurant.

Ukrainian security services said the man sent video footage of the establishment to the Russian military hours before it was destroyed.

Fourteen-year-old twin sisters Yuliya and Anna Aksenchenko and a 17-year-old girl were among those killed. “Russian missiles stopped the beating of the hearts of two angels,” Kramatorsk city council’s education department said in a statement.

At least 60 others were injured, including Colombian nationals and a leading Ukrainian writer.

PUTIN COUNTDOWN?

On Wednesday, Ukrainian security services released a photo of a local man they arrested, describing him as a Russian agent.

Speaking in his nightly address, Zelensky explained that the country’s security services had worked alongside police special forces to detain the suspect – who may face life imprisonment.

The missile strike came despite Ukrainian officials claiming the “countdown” of Vladimir Putin’s presidency has begun.

Kyiv says that the recent mutiny of the Wagner mercenary group has weakened the Russian leader.

“I think the countdown has started,” said Andriy Yermak, President Zelensky’s closest adviser.

Putin ordered the Russian invasion of Ukraine last year after annexing Ukraine’s Crimea Peninsula in 2014.
