Israel Politician: ‘Latest Agreements Israel and Arab States Foretold In Biblical Prophecy’
By Stefan J. Bos, Special Correspondent Worthy News
(Worthy News) – A leading Jewish commentator and politician says the agreements that Israel signed this week with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are of “biblical proportions” and foretold in prophecy. Dov Lipman, a former legislator of Israel’s centrist Yesh Atid (“There Is a Future”) party, noted that Scriptures detail the tensions between the two sons of the Biblical patriarch Abraham.
“Tradition teaches that both Isaac [born to Sarah] and Ishmael [born to Hagar] claimed the right of the firstborn,” he wrote in The Jerusalem Post newspaper. Each one legitimately claimed to be Abraham’s firstborn through their mothers. “The reconciliation of Isaac and Ishmael, with Ishmael accepting Isaac’s presence in the Land of Israel, was not simply a story in the past but foretold what would happen in the future. It foretold what happened this week!” Lipman added.
That makes this week’s signing ceremony between Israel and Arab states more than “merely historic,” he stressed. “The agreements that were signed this week in Washington serve as another step in the process of reconciliation between Abraham’s two sons. [It was] a healing of wounds which caused him great happiness in Abraham’s old age and foretold what would transpire in future generations.”
Lipman suggested that the ” ‘The Abrahamic Accords’ was the perfect title for this event”. They prove what “we are experiencing with the establishment, development and success of the State of Israel are not only historic but also fulfillments of biblical prophecies.”
PALESTINIANS PROTESTS
His remarks followed Palestinians’ torching of pictures depicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, U.S President Donald Trump, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan. The Palestinian protesters in Gaza City made clear they feel betrayed by the United Arab Emirates,’ and Bahrain deals with Israel to normalize relations.
“Shunned by their Arab brothers, the Palestinians were finally forced to come to terms with the fact that the notion of Arab solidarity
has passed away,” noted The Jerusalem Post newspaper.
For the first time in decades, the Palestinians now realize that the Palestinian issue [of an own state] is no longer the Arab world’s central issue, the paper commented. “And for the first time in decades, the Palestinians are now fully aware that the Arab world has changed.”
Those sentiments are shared by Amjad Shaheen, a prominent activist with the Palestinian ruling Fatah faction. “As far as many Arab countries are concerned, Iran, Turkey, and the Muslim Brotherhood organization are the real enemy, and not Israel,” said Amjad Shaheen, a prominent activist with the Palestinian ruling Fatah faction.
“What’s worrying is that many Arabs are attacking the Palestinians and are saying they are fed up with us and our issue,” the activist told The Jerusalem Post. “The Palestinian people feel abandoned and isolated. I don’t think our leadership has a clear strategy on how to cope with the new developments in the Arab world.”
