(Worthy News) – About 1,700 people made a decision for Christ in Cambodia over the weekend at an event hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, breaking decades of religious oppression.
Franklin Graham, the son of the famous evangelist, told 1,300 attendees on the final night of the conference Sunday that “the decision you make tonight will decide where your soul will spend eternity,” 800 people responding to his altar call on that night alone.
Over a third of the country of Cambodia was slaughtered between 1975 and 1979 in the “killing fields” of dictator Pol Pot, a process that left only 200 Christians alive.
“Today, the [Cambodian] church has risen up out of the ashes. God is working in this country,” Graham said.
