UN nuclear agency asks Iran to explain uranium samples found at warehouse

(Worthy News) – The head of the UN’s nuclear inspection agency Monday called on Tehran to explain the findings of a test conducted in April.

According to two diplomats who work with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), samples taken from what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called a “secret” nuclear facility in Tehran yielded signs of uranium, one of the two elements necessary to construct a nuclear weapon.

Agency head Cornel Feruta “stressed the need for Iran to respond promptly to Agency questions” related to the find, saying “time is of the essence” following the IAEA’s additional confirmation Monday that Iran was now employing advanced centrifuges for speedier enrichment of uranium.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also revealed pictures Monday of another “secret” site in Abadeh, Iran he claimed was for “nuclear weapons development,” which photographs from June and July showed to have been razed and covered with gravel subsequent to Israel’s discovery of it.

Iran has almost totally dispensed with the 2015 nuclear deal with America and European allies, having so far breached its 3.76% limit on uranium enrichment and a prohibition against using all but the most outdated model of a centrifuge.
