Israel Reveals Details About Lebanese Hezbollah Project to Convert Missiles into Precision Weapons

(Worthy News) – Israel has released more information about the Lebanese weapons facility it hit Sunday morning with two drones.

According to the Israeli military, Fuad Shakr, a Hezbollah leader wanted by the US government for his role in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing that killed 241 US marines, has been instrumental in the project to convert basic missiles into precision-guided missiles capable of hitting their target within only a 33-foot margin of error.

“Iran is endangering Lebanese by trying to produce precision-guided missiles on Lebanese soil, using the Lebanese people as human shields,” IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus revealed of the project, which the Israeli military said began in 2013.

Early Sunday morning two Israeli drones carrying C4 explosives damaged a large planetary mixer imported from Iran in the Dahiyeh neighborhood of Beirut, which device is necessary to create the propulsion for more accurate missiles.

The strike was the first action by Israel in Lebanon since the 2006 Second Lebanon War that a US army analysis called “at best…a stalemate for Israel.”
