(Worthy News) –
“Hearts and Hands: Iraq,” a new documentary by Sean Feucht at Bethel Music, tells the story of an Iraqi Yazidi man who survived being burned alive three times after ISIS fighters found out about his Christian faith.
The man was bludgeoned with large stones then drenched with 20 gallons of gasoline and set alight on three different occasions, but miraculously survived unscathed, a circumstance he credits to appearances by Jesus in his dreams.
“I cannot tell you what He said, it’s a promise between me and Christ,” declines the man when Feucht probes him for details in the interview.
“They burned me, but I didn’t burn.”
Feucht related the plight of Yazidis in Iraq to Fox News, which had been exponentialized for the man in the interview by his conversion to Christianity.
“The Yazidis…were really targeted by ISIS for genocide,” said Feucht. “ISIS didn’t even want to imprison them, they just wanted to kill them, wipe them off the map.”
The documentary is expected to be released later this year by Feucht and his crew under the auspices of the Light a Candle Project, which “exists to bring hope and sustainable change in the darkest corners of the world,” according to its website.
