US and Israel Set for High-Level Iran Talks in Washington Next Week

(Worthy News) – Senior US and Israeli officials are set to hold high-level talks concerning Iran’s nuclear program next week in Washington.
The Israeli delegation led by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi, along with top officials from the Israel Defense Forces, Mossad, and various ministries—will meet with a U.S. team. The American team, guided by Trump’s National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, will feature representatives from the State Department, Pentagon, and U.S. intelligence agencies, according to Axios.
Discussions on the Iranian nuclear program will top the agenda, with a senior U.S. official indicating that the talks will center on the nuclear issue and potential U.S.-Iran negotiations.
Additionally, the strategic discussions will cover the war in Gaza and the ongoing Israel-Lebanon negotiations regarding their disputed border.
Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a two-month ultimatum to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump demanded a decision on whether Iran will enter talks with the U.S. to curb its nuclear ambitions or face unspecified consequences.
Analysts suggest that the demand increases the possibility of a military operation to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities if negotiations do not proceed.
