Trump Threatens Tariffs on Mexico If It Fails to Combat Illegal Immigration and Drug Trafficking

(Worthy News) – Former President Donald Trump kicked off his final day of rallies in Raleigh, North Carolina, pledging tariffs on Mexico if it fails to crackdown on illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
“Now we have a new president in Mexico, supposedly, a very, very nice woman, they say,” Trump said at a rally in Raleigh, N.C.
“I haven’t met her, and I’m going to inform her on day one, or sooner, that if they don’t stop this onslaught of criminals and drugs coming into our country, I’m going to immediately impose a 25% tariff on everything they send into the United States of America.”
Trump claimed the proposal has a “100% chance of working,” stating that if a 25% tariff isn’t effective, he’ll raise it to 50% and then to 75%.
“I’ll raise it to 100, and eventually, they’ll have so many soldiers on their southern border,” Trump emphasized.
Trump made these remarks at the first of four rallies on his final campaign day before Tuesday’s election, with additional stops planned in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
