BEIRUT/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Four Israeli soldiers were killed and scores injured in Hezbollah’s drone attack targeting a military base in Israel in the Binyamina area, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced late Sunday.

All wounded soldiers were evacuated to hospitals for further medical treatment, and notifications were sent to the families of both dead and wounded, officials said.

Fifty-one soldiers were reportedly hurt in the strike on the military base, including seven who were seriously injured and nine who were moderately hurt. The rest were lightly wounded, the IDF said.

Two Hezbollah drones were launched from Lebanon toward Israel, but one of them penetrated deep into Israel, injuring at least 67 people as it was crashing in the Binyamina area, Worthy News monitored Sunday.

No alarms were activated in the “unprecedented” drone attack, Israeli sources said, raising concerns about the Jewish nation’s overwhelmed detection systems as it fights against numerous threats.

A Hezbollah drone struck the Binyamina area on Sunday evening, wounding around 67 people, “with four potentially mortally wounded,” said Israel’s medical Magen David Adom rescue service.

Officials said most were taken to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, about 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the major cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa.

Israeli sources said other victims were moved to Sheba Hospital in Ramat Gan, Rambam Hospital in Haifa, and Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, 10.6 kilometers (6.6 miles) east of Tel Aviv.

Two drones were launched toward Israel, “with one shot down over the sea,” the Israeli military said, adding that it will be investigating why the other one penetrated deep into Israel, crashing in the Binyamina area.

Earlier Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said some 25 rockets and missiles were fired at Israeli towns and forces by Hezbollah from next to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) posts over the past month.

One of the attacks launched from next to a UNIFILposition killed two IDF soldiers, said IDF Arabic language spokesman Avichay Adraee.

The attacks underscored concerns in Israel about Hezbollah, despite an ongoing Israeli offensive in Lebanon against the Iran-backed Islamic group, designated as a terrorist organization by Israel and most of its allies.
