TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israel vowed revenge after Iran reportedly launched nearly 200 missiles at the Jewish nation, including over large cities such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Footage, reviewed by Worthy News, emerged of rockets being fired over Jerusalem, with residents reacting in shock.

Israel’s military confirmed late Tuesday that Iranian missiles illuminated the skies over Jerusalem. “Iranian missiles rain over the Old City in Jerusalem, a holy site for Muslims, Christians, and Jews,” said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “This is the target of the Iranian regime: everyone.”

Rockets also targeted cities such as Tel Aviv, but pictures seen by Worthy News suggested they were destroyed.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said residents were now free to leave their shelters following Tehran’s attacks that prompted alarms across the country.

Explosions were heard in Jerusalem and other areas while reporters on state television lay flat on the ground during live broadcasts.

200 MISSILES

Israeli army radio said nearly 200 missiles had been launched into Israel from Iran. Tehran warned that if Israel retaliates, its response would be even more tough.

Tehran had vowed revenge for the killings of the leaders of Hezbollah and other Iran-backed groups.

However, Israel’s U.N. ambassador, Danny Danon, said, “Any enemy that attacks Israel should expect a painful response.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a few other ministers were reportedly meeting in a bunker near Jerusalem to discuss Israel’s next move.

They gathered as Israeli media said, “Israel is under fire” from several directions. Earlier
in the day, “projectiles had also been fired at Israel from Lebanon,” with some of them being intercepted, the military said.

One man in his 50s and another in his 30s were wounded in the attack, but both men were expected to survive as they suffered “moderate wounds from shrapnel,” said Magen David Adom, Israel’s medical emergency service.

Yet more severe casualties were expected, with Israel pledging to continue its invasion of Lebanon against Hezbollah and other Iran-backed groups.
