(Worthy News) – Israeli authorities reported that over 100 rockets were launched at northern Israel on Wednesday by the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization. In Kiryat Shmona, some of the rockets directly struck homes, sparking fires. Police and emergency teams quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance and assess the damage.
Earlier Wednesday, Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah rocket launchers in the southern Lebanese towns of Kounine and Qabrikha, both of which had been used in previous attacks on Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced today. The military also released footage of the strikes, showing targets linked to recent hostilities.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket barrage, stating that its fighters had targeted Israeli military positions.
The IDF also reported that overnight, air defenses shot down a drone approaching Israel from the east. The drone did not enter Israeli airspace, according to the military. The Iran-backed group, Islamic Resistance in Iraq, claimed responsibility for the drone, stating it was an attempt to target the Haifa port.
