WASHINGTON/MOSCOW/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – The deputy director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) revealed late Wednesday that Ukraine’s military is planning to retain the Russian territory it captured for “some period of time.”

David Cohen warned Moscow that a counter-offensive would be a brutal fight.

He said Russian President Vladimir Putin would have to “deal with reverberations back in his society” over the loss of Russian territory.

Cohen spoke at an intelligence conference after Kyiv claimed to have taken over some 100 settlements and captured about 600 Russian troops in Russia’s Kursk region.

With clashes intensifying, Moscow dismissed talk by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about a plan he has to end the war.

It warned that Russia would continue its “special military operation” in Ukraine, which has killed thousands on both sides.

Zelenskyy said he would present his peace plan—the full details of which he did not publicly disclose—to U.S. President Joe Biden and his two potential successors, Kamala Harris and Donald J. Trump.
