(Worthy News) – Israel and its allies continue to arm and prepare as they await responses from the Iranian ‘Axis of Evil’ for the assassinations of top terror leaders in Tehran and Beirut, while the world hopes to prevent escalation into a full-blown war.

On Sunday, Netanyahu described Iran and Iranian-backed groups as “Iran’s axis of evil,” warning that Israel will “exact a heavy price for any act of aggression” as it faces a “multi-front war.”

Behind the scenes, the U.S. is collaborating with regional coalition countries to repel the ‘Axis of Evil’ attack expected to be launched by Iran, Hezbollah, and Iranian-backed proxies in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.

President Biden spoke today with the leaders of Qatar and Egypt, and according to the White House, he discussed with them “efforts to ease tensions in the region, bring about a cease-fire agreement, and secure the release of hostages in Gaza.”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the Tel Nof airbase on Tuesday and stated, “Every day that passes, we are improving our defense readiness and sharpening our attack capabilities.”

On Tuesday, the IDF stated that Major General Aharon Haliva, Head of the Intelligence Directorate, visited two of its bases. During the visit, Haliva was briefed on intelligence efforts, with a focus on developments in Iran and the northern front, and emphasized the Directorate’s readiness for all scenarios.

Meanwhile, the United States deployed roughly a dozen F/A-18 fighter jets from the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier to an undisclosed military base in the Middle East as part of the Pentagon’s effort to help defend Israel from possible attacks by Iran and its proxies and to safeguard US troops, according to the Associated Press.

According to an official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss troop movements, a squadron of Air Force F-22 fighter jets is expected to arrive in the Middle East from Alaska over the next several days.

The United States has over 4,000 troops in the region as part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group. This group consists of a three-ship team, an infantry battalion, and additional troops from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

This is in spite of an alarming survey published in the Washington Post revealing that, for the first time in 14 years, a majority of Americans oppose sending troops to defend Israel. Conducted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the survey shows that 55% of Americans oppose sending U.S. military forces, while 41% support it. Among Republicans, 55% favor sending forces, compared to only 35% of Democrats.

The newspaper noted that the percentage of Americans supporting troop deployment to Israel is the lowest recorded since 2010 when 47% expressed support for sending troops.
