Israel Continues to Dismantle Terrorist Tunnels Connecting Egypt and Gaza
by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent
(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced their ongoing efforts to dismantle Hamas’ smuggling network along the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, revealing the discovery of an unusually large tunnel over the weekend that is capable of allowing vehicles to pass through.
The tunnel was found along the contentious Philadelphi Corridor, which divides Egypt from the Gaza Strip. The IDF is actively working to dismantle Hamas’ smuggling routes throughout the area.
Daniel Hagari, the IDF spokesperson, announced that the forces had discovered several tunnels, some large enough for vehicles, along the “Philadelphia Axis.” He stated, “In recent times, the forces of the 162nd Division and the forces of the Yalam unit have been working to locate and destroy underground tunnels in the Philadelphia area. So far, the forces have located and destroyed dozens of tunnels,” in a post on X.
The military reported that combat engineers were investigating the tunnel along the Philadelphi Corridor before its scheduled demolition.
