JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) deputy head of weapons production, Mohammed al-Jabari, and dozens of other “terrorists,” the Israeli military said early Friday.

Al-Jabari, who was responsible for financing weapon manufacturing infrastructure for PIJ, was killed in a targeted intelligence-based operation in northern Gaza, according to Israeli officials.

In addition, he was reportedly in charge of the distribution of salaries and funds to the PIJ, deemed a terrorist organization by Israel.

Israeli sources said Al-Jabari actively participated in efforts to restore the group’s rocket manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure.

Separately, “30 terrorists” were killed by Israeli forces in the area of Rafah, according to the military.

The troops of the “162nd Division carried out precise, intelligence-based operational activities” to eliminate ”the terrorists, “the IDF stressed.

INTENSE FIGHTING

They added that the attacks were “during close-quarters encounters and in aerial strikes.”

The 162nd Division killed more than 30 gunmen in close-quarters combat and by calling in airstrikes in southern Gaza’s Rafah in the past day.

Separately in the Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, where the 252nd Division is deployed, reservists with the division’s Jerusalem Brigade spotted a cell of gunmen emerging from a tunnel and called in a drone strike, according to the military.

In the same area amid operations by the Harel Reserve Armored Brigade, an attack helicopter struck a building used as a weapons depot, the IDF added.

It comes amid concerns that Israel’s war against Hamas and allies such as the PIJ will further escalate.

The war broke out after Hamas fighters entered Israel, killing some 1,200 people and kidnapping about 250 people in what the Israeli government called the worst atrocity against Jewish people since the Holocaust, also known as the Shoah.
