Fiber Optic Networks Sabotaged Across France

PARIS (Worthy News) – Fiber optic networks have been sabotaged in six areas in France just days after high-speed train travel was impacted by attacks around the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, police confirmed Monday.
Landlines are especially affected by the interruption, and mobile phones to a lesser extent, but authorities said the area around the French capital was not yet targeted in the latest attack.
Internet problems were reported in at least 28 locations in France.
The sabotage comes three days after vandalism at several high-speed connections in France.
Officials and passengers said this led to significant delays and chaos on public transport on the day of the Olympic Games opening ceremony.
RUSSIAN PLOT?
It comes after French authorities announced last week they detained a Russian man for allegedly plotting acts of “destabilization” during the Paris Olympics, while a separate video emerged promising “rivers of blood” in Paris.
The 40-year-old man was reportedly arrested Sunday for the possible passing of “intelligence to a foreign power to arouse hostilities in France.”
The alleged plot was not believed to have been for a terror attack. However, it came while on social media, footage emerged of a man saying “rivers of blood will flow” at the upcoming Olympics in Paris, which Israel is set to compete in.
In the minute-long clip, a masked Arabic-speaking man addressed “the people of France and the French President [Emmanuel] Macron” and warned them that they would be punished for supporting “the Zionist regime in its criminal war against the people of Palestine.”
France has deployed tens of thousands of police officers each day of the event
