(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are ‘ready and preparing for the next stage in Lebanon,’ stated Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi on Sunday evening. Earlier today, Israel struck multiple Hezbollah targets across Lebanon. Over the past week, the IDF conducted an intensive drill to prepare for conflict with the terrorist organization.

Earlier today, IDF fighter jets struck two buildings in Mays al-Jabal, southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah operatives. They also hit a Hezbollah weapons depot in Bint Jbeil and another building in Kafr Kila. Additionally, the IDF shelled areas near Odaisseh with artillery to “remove threats.” Meanwhile, three rockets were launched from Lebanon at Kiryat Shmona; two landed in open areas, and the Iron Dome intercepted one.

“We are in high-intensity combat in the north,” said Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi. “Along with increasing achievements in degrading Hezbollah, we do not forget for a moment the plight of the residents of the north over the last nine months. We grieve at all times for the dead and injured from Hezbollah attacks.”

He continued, “In the last few days, I visited one of the communities close to the border. I saw the damage, met with the leadership there, and heard difficult things from them. We translate this difficulty into determination in combat and, later, into real solutions and the secure return of residents to their homes. We are ready and preparing for the next stage in Lebanon.”

This past week, the IDF’s 5th Reserve Infantry Brigade conducted a drill simulating combat in Lebanon to enhance readiness amid northern border tensions. The exercise involved navigating complex, mountainous terrain and utilizing firepower and observation capabilities. Simultaneously, the 920th Reserve Battalion of the 769th “Hiram” Regional Brigade simulated defending northern Israeli towns.

So far, skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah have resulted in 12 Israeli civilian deaths and the deaths of 17 IDF soldiers and reservists. Several attacks from Syria have occurred, causing no injuries.

Hezbollah reports that 366 of its members have been killed by Israel, primarily in Lebanon but also in Syria. Additionally, 66 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of Lebanese civilians have been killed in Lebanon.
