(Worthy News) – During a three-day killing spree across multiple Nigerian states this month, Islamic terrorists murdered 23 people, including burning six alive, abducted five people, and set fire to 28 homes, International Christian Concern (ICC) reports.

The attacks this month took place between Feb. 16-19 in Benue, Kaduna, and Katsina states, ICC reports. Six people were burned to death in Kauru County, Benue State on Feb. 16. Five people from this community were abducted by the terrorists during that attack.

On. Feb. 18, terrorists slaughtered 11 Christians and burned down 28 houses in Adama Dutse Village in Kaduna State, ICC reports. Witnesses said the attacker rode motor bikes and shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ [God is Greatest]” as they carried out the massacre. “Police came seven hours after the attack to take photos and ask questions,” Audu Tanko from Kajuru county told ICC. “There is tension now in my village. We are killed because of our faith in Jesus,” Tanko said.

Then, on Feb. 19 in the village of Nasarawa in the Faskari county of Katsina State, terrorists with AK-47 rifles shot six people dead and wounded 10 others, ICC reports.

In a website statement about the dire situation facing Christians in Nigeria, the Open Doors international Christian advocacy organization says: “More believers are killed for their faith in Nigeria each year, than everywhere else in the world combined. The attacks are often brutal in nature and can involve destruction of properties, abductions for ransom, sexual violence and death. Believers are stripped of their livelihoods and driven from their homes, leaving a trail of grief and trauma.”

As Nigeria’s government and the international community looked on, tens of thousands of Nigerian Christians have lost their lives to incessant Islamic terrorism since 2009.
