US President Biden “Willfully” Retained State Secrets

WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – In a significant setback for American President Joe Biden, the U.S. Justice Department has concluded that he “willfully” retained and disclosed highly classified materials as a private citizen.
The classified information relates to documents about the military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and other sensitive national security matters, according to a Justice Department report released Thursday.
The report impacts his ability to forcefully condemn Donald Trump, Biden’s likely opponent in November’s presidential election, over a criminal indictment charging the former president with illegally hoarding classified records at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
“Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” Hur wrote.
However, Biden, 81, dismissed the report, which also included criticism of memory lapses. It also recommended Biden not face charges after a yearlong investigation.
During hastily scheduled remarks at the White House, Biden blasted special Hur for saying he did not remember when his son Beau died.
But minutes after defending his memory, Biden painfully referred to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as the president of Mexico.
OLDEST PRESIDENT
The embarrassing revelations for America’s oldest president on record came as the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in a landmark legal case to decide whether Trump can be on the ballot in November’s election.
The justices were skeptical of the U.S. state of Colorado’s decision to disqualify Trump and asked tough questions of the lawyer from the state.
The ruling from the nine top justices will apply nationwide – although a final ruling was due within weeks.
Colorado’s top court previously ruled Trump was not eligible to participate in presidential elections because he allegedly engaged in “insurrection” in the storming of the U.S. Capitol by rioters claiming to be his supporters.
Trump is appealing the decision with his lawyers arguing that what happened at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “a riot, not an insurrection.”
The case hinges on a key U.S. Constitution clause – Section 3 of the 14th Amendment – bans anyone “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” from office.
Yet, Trump and his supporters call the case politically motivated at a time when Biden is losing ground in opinion polls.
