Israel Hits Syria, Killing Several Soldiers

DAMASCUS (Worthy News) – Several civilians were killed and injured in an Israeli strike on Syria’s Homs area, Syrian officials said Wednesday.
The state-run news agency SANA said Israeli warplanes launched their missiles from an area north of Lebanon’s Tripoli, targeting sites in Homs and the nearby area.
Syrian air defenses reportedly shot down some of the Israeli missiles.
In addition to the casualties, SANA said damage was caused to both public and private properties.
The attack reportedly targeted several Syrian army outposts and an airbase in the Homs area. A Syrian military intelligence source familiar with the matter said it targeted the Shayrat airbase.
The attack came amid a broader Israeli and U.S.-led crackdown on terror groups, including several financed by Iran.
Since the October 7 attack by Hamas in Israel that killed some 1,200 Israeli civilians and soldiers and saw the abduction of about 250 others, Israel has escalated its strikes on Iranian-backed militia targets.
In Syria, Israel also struck Syrian army air defenses and some Syrian forces, officials said.
