(Worthy News) – A new survey shows that nearly half of Britain’s Jews are thinking of leaving the UK because of the massive rise in antisemitism that followed the genocidal Oct. 7 attack on Israel by the Palestinian jihadist group Hamas, the Jerusalem Post reports.

The survey was conducted by Campaign Against Antisemitism, a UK-based charity which works to ensure antisemitism is “investigated and punished with the full force of the law.” The survey was carried out between November 12-17 last year with 3,744 British Jews, JPost reports.

According to the survey, 70% of Britain’s Jews are hiding their Jewish identity because of fears of harassment and persecution by surrounding hostile fellow citizens, JPost reports.

England has seen massive anti-Israel rallies in which hundreds of thousands people have walked through city centers chanting that “Palestine” should be “free from the river to the sea.” In the absence of any condemnation of Hamas for committing the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, this particular chant has been interpreted as a genocidal vision in which there would be no Israel and the region would be free of Jews. Accordingly, 90% of Britain’s Jews stay out of city centers during major anti-Israel protests, the survey found.

The survey found that 60% of participants had experienced, witnessed, or knew someone who had faced an antisemitic incident following Oct.7, JPost reports. Notably, only 16% of respondents trust the police to respond to reported incidents, believing that antisemitism is not treated with the same level of seriousness as other hate crimes are.
