(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) approved operational plans for a potential war with Hezbollah as the terrorist organization fired at least 34 rockets from Lebanon on Wednesday.

IDF’s Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, has given his approval for operational plans at the military’s Northern Command, which is tasked with overseeing the Lebanese border and warned of the need to “be ready to attack if required.”

“Our first task is to return residents securely, and it will take time. We approved today a variety of plans for continuation, and we need to be ready to attack, if required. The IDF and within it, the Northern Command, are in very high readiness. So far, the campaign is managed correctly and meticulously, and it should continue as such. We will not return the residents without security and a sense of security,” Halevi said in remarks provided to the press.

Hezbollah claim responsibility in launching the recent rocket barrages and deploying at least three drones laden with explosives in the Mount Dov region, an area known for several IDF positions. They stated that these actions were retaliatory, aimed at responding to what they describe as “the enemy’s repeated crimes.”

A security official informed Reuters news agency that Hezbollah’s rocket and drone attacks on Wednesday were more extensive than on any other day since the beginning of the war. This significant increase in attacks marks a notable escalation in the ongoing conflict.

Iran vowed retribution again on Wednesday stating that Israel will “pay the price” for its alleged involvement in the killing of a senior commander from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Syria on Monday. This statement comes in response to the incident, highlighting the heightened tensions and ongoing conflict in the region.

Meanwhile the IDF continued its military campaign in the Gaza Strip, extending airstrikes to central and southern regions overnight and into Wednesday. This escalation followed an expansion of Israel’s offensive against Hamas, targeting additional areas where the military had previously advised Palestinians to seek shelter earlier in the conflict.

Israel has indicated that accomplishing its objectives in the ongoing conflict will likely require an extended period, with estimates suggesting it could take “many months.”
