(Worthy News) – During the COP 28 Climate Conference in Dubai on Friday, King Charles III warned world leaders during the COP 28 Climate Conference in Dubai on Friday, expressing that it needs to change its ways amid the warning signs of the climate crisis are being overlooked and warned that the world is heading towards “dangerous, uncharted territory.”

The British monarch joined over 80,000 other global elite members who traveled to the two-week U.N.-sponsored meeting to identify strategies to reduce global emissions significantly.

“I pray with all my heart that COP28 will be another critical turning point towards genuine transformational action,” the King said in his opening address to delegates at the World Climate Action Summit.

“As I have tried to say on many occasions, unless we rapidly repair and restore nature’s unique economy, based on harmony and balance, which is our ultimate sustainer, our own economy and survivability will be imperiled,” he said.

“Some important progress has been made, but it worries me greatly that we remain so dreadfully far off track,” the King stated, adding, “We are taking the natural world outside balanced norms and limits and into dangerous, uncharted territory.”

“So if we act together to safeguard our precious planet, the welfare of all our people will surely follow. We need to remember, too, that the indigenous worldview teaches us that we are all connected, not only as human beings but with all living things and all that sustains life.”

“As part of this grand and sacred system, harmony with nature must be maintained. The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth,” the King concluded.

COP28 shattered the attendance record set by last year’s UN Climate summit in Egypt, COP27, which had 49,000 accredited participants, with a staggering 80,000 in attendance.  COP28 is scheduled to continue until December 12, and during the summit, the UK government has committed £1.6 billion of taxpayer funds for international climate change projects.
