Eight More Hostages Freed Thursday Night

(Worthy News) – On Thursday, Hamas released eight Israeli hostages, constituting the seventh group of individuals freed by the terrorist organization as part of a ceasefire agreement with Israel.
In the late afternoon, Mia Schem, 21, and Amit Soussana, 40, were freed, with six additional individuals returning to Israel shortly before midnight.
At present, it is uncertain whether the temporary ceasefire with Hamas will be extended to another day, and the situation remains unclear regarding the release of additional hostages.
On Thursday, Belal (18) and Alsha (17) Zaidna, Mia Shem (21), Sapir Cohen (29), Shani Goren (29), Ilana Grichevski (30), Nili Margalit (40), and Amit Soussana (40) were released today.
As of Thursday, only two children, Ariel (4) and Kfir (10 months), both members of the Bibas family, remain in captivity. These two children were taken alongside their 32-year-old mother, Shiri, while their father, Yarden, was abducted separately.
On Wednesday, Hamas claimed in a statement that the three family members had been killed. Israel has stated that it is currently investigating this claim. However, on Thursday, Hamas released a propaganda video featuring Yarden, who appeared to be alive and related to the rest of his family. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari characterized the video as “psychological terror.”
The release of hostages on Thursday occurred following an agreement to extend the existing ceasefire, which was reached early in the morning just before a 7 a.m. deadline for its expiration.
The IDF issued a warning on Thursday night, stating their readiness to resume Israel’s offensive promptly. Hagari emphasized, “We are prepared to launch an attack at any hour, including tonight.”
