Biden Sends Email to 813K Borrowers on Student Loan Forgiveness

(Worthy News) – Approximately 813,000 student loan borrowers received an email from President Joe Biden, informing them of their debt forgiveness due to his actions, the White House said on Tuesday.
In June, the Supreme Court rejected Biden’s proposal to eliminate up to $400 billion in student debt for tens of millions of Americans.
Nevertheless, during an election year, the White House sent an email stating, “For too long, the student loan program failed to live up to its commitments — and millions like you never got the relief you were owed because of errors and administrative failures,” Biden wrote in the email. “I vowed to fix that, and I’m proud that my administration has delivered on that promise.”
“I hope this relief gives you a little more breathing room,” the president stated. “I’ve heard from countless people who have told me that relieving the burden of student loan debt will allow them to support themselves and their families, or move forward with life plans they’ve put on hold.”
The Biden administration implemented its plan by using existing programs, including Public Service Loan Forgiveness and income-driven repayment plans, to cover the cost of the debt forgiveness.
