(Worthy News) – Newly published verified undercover footage outlet of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot raises further questions about the conduct of Capitol Police during the attack as an undercover officer is heard telling a colleague, “We go undercover as Antifa in a crowd,” Just the News reported exclusively on Tuesday.

Last week, Just the News reported security footage on Jan. 6, which showed people building the infamous wooden gallows on the National Mall while Capitol Police stood by.

The new footage obtained by Just the News on Tuesday was recorded by a Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officer on his phone as he stood behind police lines on the US Capitol grounds on the day of the riot. It is believed the officer was a member of the MPD’s Electronic Surveillance Unit (ESU).

“He is seen giving water to his fellow police officers who were suffering from the effects of tear gas which the Capitol Police had deployed against the pro-Trump protestors,” Just the News explains in its report describing the video.

“The footage showed the officer in plain clothes with a grey jacket. Spotted in the video and identifying him as a police officer is a badge hanging around his neck. While helping his fellow officer, the undercover officer told his colleague, “we go undercover as Antifa in a crowd.”

The footage does not make it clear what exactly the officer was referring to, whether he was undercover in the crowd as an Antifa activist or whether he was recalling a prior encounter with Antifa protests,” Just the News said.

The video has been turned over to Congress House Administration Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., who is investigating the official police response on Jan. 6, Just the News said.
