JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israel said Tuesday that the Israeli Air Force and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Nahal’s brigade attacked some “10 Hamas terrorists” in a building near Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza from where they planned “an assault” on the IDF.

The resulting airstrike caused “substantial secondary explosions,” indicating there were Hamas weapons next to the hospital, which violates the 1949 Geneva Convention Accords, the IDF said.

Under the Geneva Convention, medical facilities must be positioned to avoid being endangered by attacks on military targets.

And, since 1977, an additional protocol explicitly prohibits “the use of medical units as shields to protect military objectives.”

Unlike Hamas, the “IDF is continuing to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” the military said in a statement monitored by Worthy News.

“As of yesterday, 665 trucks have entered Gaza, with deliveries of vital humanitarian aid,” the IDF added. They brought “over 3,000 tons of food, over 1,720 tons of medical equipment, over 600 tons of equipment for temporary shelter,” and more than “1.15 million liters of water”, Israel’s military explained.

“In addition, more humanitarian initiatives are being planned.”

SAFE CORRIDOR

The comments came while the Israeli army was seen creating a safe corridor for thousands of people fleeing northern Gaza to the south ahead of more expected Israeli airstrikes.

Additionally, injured people and foreign nationals were allowed to leave Gaza through Egypt’s Rafah bord de crossing. “We are at war with Hamas, not Gazan civilians,” the IDF stressed.

Yet the Hamas-run health ministry said Israel’s military actions killed more than 10,000 people, including over 4,000 children. The figures could not be verified independently.

Israel says its military is aiming at Hamas, fighters, and properties of the group, which killed 1,400 people, including toddlers and babies, and kidnapped more than 200 others.

Hamas, designated as a terrorist organization by most Western countries, has warned Israel that it will repeat the October 7 massacres.

As the fighting entered a second month Tuesday, Israel’s war cabinet minister Benny Gantz admitted for the first time that Israel is in a “multi-front war.”

“The focus is Gaza – but we are fighting on defense and on offense both in the north and elsewhere,” the minister said. He spoke at Tel Aviv’s military headquarters to mark a month since Hamas’s October 7 onslaught, which triggered the current hostilities.
