Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Declares ‘Death to America’ Policy

JERUSALEM/TEHRAN (Worthy News) – Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has declared the “death to America!” slogan Iran’s policy as Washington acts “against Iran” and supports Israel- a nation, he said, should be destroyed, according to footage obtained by Worthy News.
In an address aired on November 1 by Iran’s Channel 1 television, he said: “The situation between America and Iran is this: When you chant ‘Death to America!’ it is not just a slogan, it is a policy.”
Apparently, speaking to students in Tehran, he said there were several reasons why America should cease to exist, including its support for Israel.
“If it were not for America’s support, if it were not for the support of U.S. weapons, the corrupt and artificial Zionist regime would have been destroyed in the first week,” he added about Israel. “It would have collapsed. The Americans are behind this.”
He also said the Israeli “bombings on Gaza must stop immediately … the path of oil and food exports to the Zionist regime should be stopped,” according to Iranian state media.
Israel has vowed to wipe out Tehran-backed Hamas, which rules Gaza, in retaliation for an October 7 Hamas attack that killed 1,400 people and saw hundreds taken hostage.
The Israeli army launched unprecedented air strikes and a ground offensive in Gaza that the Hamas-ruled health ministry says claimed 9,000 lives. Israel’s government has denied it deliberately targets civilians, and the dearth toll given by Hamas was challenging to verify independently.
CLERICAL RULERS
Yet Iran’s clerical rulers have warned Israel of an escalation if it failed to end aggressions against Palestinians, with authorities indicating Tehran-backed proxies in the Middle East were ready to act.
Backing the Palestinian cause has been a political pillar of the Islamic Republic since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Analysts say it was a way in which the nation’s Shi’ite Muslim theocracy made Iran a leader in the Muslim world.
Khamenei, Iran’s top authority, said the United States was complicit in Israel’s “recent crimes against Palestinians.”
“The Islamic world should not forget that in the crucial issue of Gaza, those standing against the oppressed Palestinian nation were the United States, France, and Britain,” Khamenei said to chants of “Death to Israel!” and “Death to America!.”
Israel, which Tehran refuses to recognize, has long accused Iran’s clerical rulers of stoking violence by supplying arms to Hamas.
Tehran says it only gives moral and financial support to the group which controls the Gaza Strip.
“One of the shameless acts of the West is accusing Palestinian fighters of terrorism,” Khamenei said.
IRANIAN INVOLVEMENT
He noticed that Western nations “don’t have a remedy” for anti-Israel and anti-American protests “in countries such as [Britain], England, France, Italy, and the United States.”
The protests led to allegations of Iranian involvement in these rallies, but Khamenei brushed aside that criticism. “That is why we saw some idiot saying that Iran was behind the rallies in England,” he told his audience.
“Perhaps the Basij of London is behind this [protests],” he explained, prompting loud laughs across the room as he referred to a force within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. “Or maybe the Basij of Paris,” the leader continued with applause and supportive shouts.
Earlier, he mentioned that the ‘Death to America’ policy was also linked to the ‘fact’ that “for many years from the 1940s to the 1970s – that is 30 years, the Americans did everything they could do against the Iranian nation.”
Referring to the United States, he claimed that “they hit Iran anyway they could.” Khamenei stressed that America undermined Iran “financially, economically, politically, scientifically and morally.”
But he suggested that Iran will remain strong as the region prepares for a broader armed conflict involving Israel.
