JERUSALEM/TEHRAN (Worthy News) – There were fresh concerns about the safety of Israeli soldiers entering Gaza on Thursday after reports that hundreds of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters received “specialized combat training” in Iran to prepare them for the October 7 “Black Sabbath” massacres in Israel.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps trained 500 militants in September ahead of the terror attacks, which left 1,400 Israelis dead, including babies and toddlers, U.S. officials said.

Separately, Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari accused Iran of helping orchestrate the coordinated massacre.

“Before the war, Iran directly assisted Hamas with money, training, weapons, and technological know-how,” Hagari said in published remarks. “Iranian aid to Hamas continues in the form of intelligence and online incitement against the State of Israel.”

This week Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke against Tehran, telling French President Emmanuel Macron that Israel is facing an “axis of evil, led by Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and their minions.”

Citing officials “familiar with intelligence related to the assault,” The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper noted that the new techniques used by Hamas are similar to those deployed by Iran.

PARAGLIDING INTO ISRAEL

That became clear on October 7 when Hamas gunmen paraglided into Israel and rode in on motorcycles — methods never used by Hamas before but often utilized by Iranian paramilitary groups.

As Israeli troops face a battle-hardened Iran-backed force, Israel is also deploying new techniques ahead of a massive ground offensive into Gaza, though some forces already entered the territory.

Israel’s new methods reportedly include a novel “sponge bombs” as the Israeli army fights its way through the network of Hamas tunnels under Gaza.

The IDF tested the chemical bombs, which contain no explosives but are used to seal off gaps or tunnel entrances from which fighters may emerge, Britain’s The Telegraph newspaper reported.

Israel’s military has not yet commented on using the so-called “sponge bombs,” which create an explosion of foam that rapidly expands and hardens.
