Britain To Expel Foreign Nationals Over anti-Semitic Behavior

United Kingdom

LONDON (Worthy News) – Britain’s government has warned four foreign nationals that they face having their visas revoked for anti-Semitic behavior following the Hamas terror attack on Israel, Britain’s The Telegraph newspaper reported Wednesday.

The Home Office reportedly wrote to the four, telling them the Government “is minded to revoke their visas to stay in the UK because of their anti-Semitism,” The Telegraph said.

Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick wrote last week to all 43 police forces in England and Wales to report any foreign individuals involved in potential “unlawful or extremist” activities for their right to stay in Britain to be reviewed. The planned expulsion of the four, who can still file legal challenges,

comes amid concerns about massive anti-Israel protests, including in London. “I can’t look a British Jewish person in the eye as immigration minister and say that I’ve allowed somebody to remain at our pleasure in this country who is conducting themselves in that manner. That is wrong. If you come to this country, you abide by British values,” Jenrick said.

He stressed that “We believe in freedom of speech” but made clear those participating in protests should not threaten others or spread hatred.

He referred to the tens of thousands of demonstrators participating over the weekend in a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel rally where some shouted: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

Jewish community leaders have described the chant as anti-Semitic as it suggests the destruction of the state of Israel. Those who defend the slogan describe it as a “long-standing protest chant” that calls for a homeland for the Palestinian people.

END TO OCCUPATION

Other protesters were heard calling for an end “to Israel’s occupation” of territories in the West Bank, holding signs saying “Freedom for Palestine.”

People were also heard singing, “Judaism yes, Zionism no, the state of Israel must go,” and “5, 6, 7, 8, Israel is a terrorist state.

In a reaction, Jenrick called it a “conduct which is below the criminal standard but which is wrong and would be accepted as wrong by most reasonable people.”

He added rust, “If those people are not British citizens, they are just visitors to our country enjoying the privileges of living here… I’m afraid their visas will be revoked, and they should leave.

Separately, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that his government has the “power to cancel a person’s presence in the UK if it is not conducive to the public good,” warning: “We will not tolerate this hatred.”

But with the Hamas-Israel intensifying, several Jewish schools in London were closed in with authorities citing security concerns. Critics have linked it to massive immigration of Muslims into Europe, though moderate Muslims say they distance themselves from anti-Jewish sentiments.

Jewish schools were also closed across the sea in Amsterdam, known for its Anne Frank House, where Jewish girl and diarist Anne Frank and her family were hiding during World War Two before being betrayed and taken by German occupiers to death camps. Only her father, Otto Frank, survived.
