JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israeli warplanes struck Syrian military infrastructure early Wednesday in retaliation for rockets launched from Syria toward Israel, military officials said.

“In response to rocket launches from Syria toward Israel yesterday, the [Israel Defense Forces] IDF) fighter jets struck military infrastructure and mortar launchers belonging to the Syrian Army,” the IDF said in remarks monitored by Worthy News.

The military said it had identified two rocket launches from Syria that landed in open areas late Tuesday. The IDF said they initially reacted with artillery fire at the sources of the launches.

Soon after, the military said Israeli fighter jets “struck” parts of Syria’s military infrastructure.

The IDF did not provide further details about the operations in Syria, which come as Israel also fights against Hamas militants in Gaza and, increasingly, Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Israel did not accuse Syria’s army of firing the two rockets, which set off air raid sirens in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Tuesday. Besides Syria’s army, backed by Russia’s military, several Islamic terror groups operate in Syria.

However, Israel’s actions sent a warning to Syria to stay out of the Israel-Hamas war, now in its third week. There was no immediate comment from Syria’s autocratic President Bashar al-Assad.

The reported rockets fired from Syria come at a time when Israel also faces missiles from Lebanon and Gaza.

The latest war began on October 7, dubbed “Black Sabbath,” when 1,400 people were murdered in the Jewish nation by Hamas, described as a terrorist organization by the West.
