Hamas Rockets Hit Jerusalem, Tel Aviv During Opening Knesset Session; Legislators Hiding

JERUSALEM/TEL AVIV (Worthy News) – A major barrage of rockets launched by Hamas militants targeted Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Monday, halting a session of Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, Worthy News learned.
The attacks sent legislators to shelters and underscored anxiety among Israelis about the militants’ reach.
Other cities were also hit, including Holon, where one person was moderately hurt by a rocket impact in the central city of Holon, medics said.
The Times of Israel website quoted the Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service as saying it is treating a 54-year-old who was hurt by shrapnel and taking her to a nearby hospital.
The woman was laying at the “side of the road beside the safety fence while conscious and suffering from shrapnel injuries to her limbs,” Deputy Director of MDA’a Ayalon Region, paramedic Oded Sheinkman said. “Civilians who were with her at the time gave her initial medical treatment, which included stopping the bleeding, through phone guidance from the MDA’s 101 dispatch center,” he told Israeli media. He said his team “evacuated her to Tel Hashomer Hospital in moderate and stable condition.”
Police said they had secured the area in an effort to protect the public from further threats and “inspect the area for additional debris.”
Additionally, police urged residents of the area “to not approach scenes of rocket impacts, to not touch debris that may contain explosive material, and to remain in protected areas.
The warning came as incoming rocket sirens sounded in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Hamas in the Gaza Strip launched long-range rockets at Israel’s largest cities following their initial salvo of thousands of missiles on and around October 7.
Several loud explosions were heard over Jerusalem and other areas, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage there, witnesses said.
Rocket sirens also wailed in Gaza border areas, prompting a response from Israeli forces who said they killed the Hamas intelligence chief ahead of an expected massive ground offensive.
