JERUSALEM (Worthy News) –  Israeli officials say they uncovered twin babies less than a year old who miraculously survived – because their young parents hid them just before being murdered by Hamas militants.

They were found at the Kfar Aza kibbutz, just a few miles (kilometers) from the Gaza border where “Hamas terrorists” attacked and “butchered” families and “beheaded children,” on Saturday authorities said.

Members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arriving at the scene recalled finding “blood spread out in homes.”

Among those killed there Saturday were Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky, both 30 years old, according to the Israeli Embassy in France in a statement confirmed by Worthy News.

But in one final act, before they were killed, they managed to spare the lives of two other people in their family: Their 10-month-old twins.

The embassy said the couple hid the babies when Hamas terrorists forced themselves into their home.

‘FIGHTING TERRORISTS’

“They fought until the last moment before being massacred by Hamas terrorists,” the embassy posted in French on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Their babies were left alone for 14 hours before emergency services arrived on the scene.”

Rotem Segev, deputy ambassador of Israel in Cyprus, also posted about the couple, saying they were “brutally murdered after fighting fiercely with the terrorists.”

“Imagine the horror,” Segev wrote on X. “Two terrified parents who tried with all their might to protect their children, who are now orphans.”

They were among the few survivors of the kibbutz massacre where “We’ve found bodies of people who have been butchered … beheaded children of varying ages, ranging from babies to slightly older children,” Israeli Defense spokesperson Major Libby Weiss said. “… The depravity of it is haunting.”

Yossi Landau, the head of operations for the southern region of Zaka, Israel’s volunteer civilian emergency response organization, told broadcaster CBS News he saw with his “own eyes” children and babies who had been beheaded. “I saw a lot more that cannot be described for now because it’s very hard to describe,” he said, speaking of parents and children found with their hands bound and clear signs of torture.

More than 1,200 people have died in Israel in violence since Saturday, when Hamas launched one of its bloodiest attacks on record.
