(Worthy News) – Israel Defense Forces and members of Shin Bet arrested a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the West Bank village of Burkin near Jenin on Wednesday night, Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) reports.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad member was arrested together with five other terror suspects during the Israeli counter-terror operation in Beit Ummar northwest of Hebron in Judea, JNS reports.
During the operation, the IDF found and confiscated weapons, ammunition, and military equipment in the villages of Qilqis and Yata, JSN said. They also arrested a wanted person in the village of Qabalan, where weapons and ammunition were also confiscated.
The IDF said in a statement that there were no casualties and that the suspects were taken to a security facility for questions.
Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF launched a search operation in the Jordan Valley following a drive-by shooting at the Hamra Junction east of Shechem (Nablus), where an Israeli woman was lightly wounded in the neck by shrapnel, JNS reports. The woman’s two children were also in the car at the time but suffered no injuries.
