NEW YORK, USA (Worthy News) – Fox News Channel has removed its possibility to donate to The Satanic Temple and other controversial groups after an outcry over these matching gifts by the U.S. conservative broadcaster, Worthy News learned.

Several conservative media outlets revealed that Fox News offered to match employee contributions to groups that promote values contrary to its own declared principles.

Through the program, Fox News matches employee donations of up to $1,000 to a charity of the employee’s choice, including The Satanic Temple.

The satanists have come under fire for activities that reportedly include handing satanic literature to minors and performing “religious abortion rituals.”

They employ religious imagery to challenge what it describes as Christian supremacy in America.

The Satanic Temple also provokes controversy by holding its annual SatanCon event in locations opposing them.

SATAN CLUB

It caused a stir in school districts nationwide with its “After School Satan Club” program, which has been presented as “an alternative” to after-school Christian clubs and Bible studies.

Donations to the group could be approved on the “Fox Giving” application on mobile devices such as smartphones.

Following the outcry, Fox News quietly made The Satanist Temple ineligible for donation matching on “Fox Giving” in recent days.

Employees can no longer make contributions to the group through the app, Worthy News learned.

Questions remained as to why The Satanist Temple was initially made eligible for donation matching while other nonprofits aligned with Fox News’ values, including the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), were not.

Conservative media outlet TheBlaze reported that Fox News Channel also helped finance the Trevor Project, an LGBT organization; Planned Parenthood, arguably the largest abortion provider in the U.S.; and the Southern Poverty Law Center, described by critics as “a radical hate group that defames conservatives.”

OFFENDING CHRISTIANS

A current employee told TheBlaze, “Fox pretends to care about Christians, but some of the stuff they push internally suggests otherwise.”

The employee stressed that activities such as transgender surgeries for kids “and potential donations to satan are a huge slap in the face to every Christian at the company, and we resent it.”

The employee added: “It offends me personally that this company acts like they support Christians, yet they’re literally willing to match a $1,000 donation to The Satanic Temple.”

Fox News Channel, owned by the Murdoch family, did not yet publicly comment about the reported donations before they were pulled.

It was also unclear how much had been donated to The Satanic Temple and other controversial groups.

It comes at a time of turbulence at Fox after it agreed recently to a $787.5 million settlement in a Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit.

Following the settlement, the right-wing cable news outlet fired Tucker Carlson, its top-rated host, allegedly over controversial comments aired publicly and behind the scenes.
