US to give Ukraine a further military aid package of about $300 million

(Worthy News) – The US is expected to announce this week that it will be sending Ukraine a new military aid package totaling up to $300 million and including additional munitions for drones, the Associated Press reports.
The sending of drone ammunition follows recent new attacks on Moscow by unmanned aircraft, although there is no suggestion that US-made drones or munitions were used in those strikes, AP said. The Russian Defense Ministry says five drones were shot down in Moscow.
“ US officials have repeatedly said that Ukraine has agreed not to use any American-provided weapons for attacks on Russian soil,” AP said in its report.
In any event, a defense official who requested anonymity as the package has not yet been announced told the AP that the drone strikes would not affect the military aid the US is sending to Ukraine. “The official said the U.S. has committed to supporting Ukraine in its effort to defend the country, and Ukraine had committed to not using the systems inside Russia, so the aid would likely continue unchanged,” AP said in its report.
The US Defense Department has given Ukraine various unmanned aircraft since the war began for both surveillance and attacks, AP noted.
