NASHVILLE (Worthy News) – U.S. President Joe Biden was briefed about a massive shooting at a Christian primary school that killed six people, including three children, the White House said.
Monday’s arrack at The Covenant School in the city of Nashville was carried out by a young female who was killed by police, officers said.
The Covenant School is a private Presbyterian school for about 200 Christian pupils aged three to 11.
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said President Biden was briefed on the “heartbreaking news” of the shooting in Nashville and added that the White House was in touch with local officials.
She said Biden is calling on the U.S. Congress to “do something” to address ongoing deadly mass shootings in the United States, including against Christian targets.
“We know that too often our schools and our communities are being devastated by gun violence,” Jean-Pierre said.
“Schools should be safe spaces for our kids to learn and grow and for our educators to teach.”
It was not immediately clear what prompted the attacker to carry out carnage at the Christian school. Nashville police said the killed suspect was identified as a 28-year-old Nashville woman.
Her name wasn’t immediately released.
