Hezbollah leader warns of possible ‘major explosion’ if Jerusalem Day Flag March passes through Old City’s Muslim quarter

(Worthy News) – The leader of Lebanon’s terror organization Hezbollah warned Wednesday there could be “a major explosion” if Israel’s Jerusalem Day Flag March passes through the Old City’s Damascus Gate and Muslim Quarter on Sunday, Ynet News reports.
Jerusalem Day is an Israeli national holiday that celebrates the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City following the 1967 Six-Day War. This year the celebratory flag march is set to begin at sundown on Saturday and to enter the Old City through the Damascus Gate before continuing through the rest of the Muslim Quarter to the Western Wall in the Jewish quarter. The thousands of marchers typically wave Israeli flags and sing patriotic songs along the route.
“Our biggest fear is that the marchers will enter the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and harm it,” Nasrallah said during a speech on Lebanon’s Liberation Day, a date which commemorates Israel’s withdrawal from Southern Lebanon on May 25, 2000.
“I want to tell the Israeli government and everyone involved – any harm to al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock will lead to a major explosion in the region. This is a provocation against all Arab and Muslim peoples.”
In any event, Israeli police have been placed on high alert in Jerusalem and in cities with large numbers of Jews and Arabs, in preparation for Sunday’s march.
