Prosecutors say Sussmann ‘manipulated and used’ FBI to smear Trump, gin up October surprise in 2016
(Worthy News) – Prosecutors argued Tuesday, the opening day of a criminal trial testing special counsel John Durham’s Russia investigation, that a Clinton campaign lawyer “used and manipulated the FBI” with anti-Trump dirt to create an October surprise in the 2016 election.
Prosecutors said the lawyer, Michael Sussmann, intended to deceive FBI officials in September 2016 in a scheme to sabotage then-candidate Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
“The evidence will show the defendant’s lie was all part of a bigger plan. It was a plan to create an October surprise on the eve of a presidential election — a plan that used and manipulated the FBI,” federal prosecutor Brittain Shaw said in her opening statement. “It was a plan that largely succeeded.” [ Source: Washington Times (Read More…) ]
FBI witness in Sussmann trial says Trump-Alfa Bank allegation was ‘far-reaching,’ not objective
An FBI agent testifying Tuesday on the second day of the trial of 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann discredited evidence Sussmann gave the agency attempting to connect the Trump Organization with Russia’s Alfa Bank, a purported hotline to the Kremlin.
Describing a white paper analyzing internet data between the email server of the Trump Organization and the Russian Alfa Bank as “not objective” and “far-reaching,” FBI Special Agent Scott Hellman said the authors’ conclusion of a secret communications channel “didn’t ring true at all.” [ Source: Just the News (Read More…) ]
