(Worthy News) – Three Republican-led states have sued the Biden administration to stop it from ending the pandemic border policy that allowed officials to turn away migrants immediately who illegally came across the border, saying that the change would result in further chaos.
Attorneys general from Arizona, Louisiana, and Missouri on Monday announced a lawsuit filed a day earlier against the administration’s planned ending of the policy, known as Title 42, which is slated to be undone on May 23, according to Fox News.
The administration moved to lift the policy after months of pressure from immigrant advocates, who say that the rule unfairly penalizes people seeking asylum in the United States. Republicans and some Democrats have said, though, that ending the rule will lead many more people to try to cross the border and worsen the migration crisis.
