Man Kills Five With Bow and Arrow In Norway

(Worthy News) – Norwegian police feared an attack of terrorism Wednesday after several people were killed and others injured in Norway as a man used a bow and arrow to attack them.
Police first received word of an attack in the town of Kongsberg, southwest of the capital Oslo, at around 18:13 local time, officials said.
Chief Oeyvind Aas said a suspect had been caught and seemed to have acted alone.
Officers would not confirm the number of casualties, but public broadcaster NRK reports at least five killed.
Police will investigate whether it was an act of terror, a spokesman said. “It is a tragedy for all those affected,” Mayor Kari Anne Sand told VG newspaper. “I have no words.”
Media reports say the attacker opened fire inside a Coop Extra supermarket on Kongsberg’s west side.
A spokesperson for the chain later confirmed a “serious incident” at their store, adding that none of their staff were physically injured.
There was reportedly a confrontation between the attacker and the police before he was eventually detained at 18:47 local time.
The attacker moved over a large area, and authorities have cordoned off several parts of the town.
Residents were ordered to stay indoors so authorities could examine the scene and gather evidence.
He has now been taken to a police station in the town of Drammen.
The attacker’s motive was not yet clear, Aas said, but police were not ruling out terrorism. “One person has performed these actions alone,” he added. “It is natural to consider whether it is an act of terrorism. But the man has not been questioned, and it is too early to come to any conclusion.”
The attack comes amid violent incidents in Scandinavian countries that critics often claim on Muslim migrants.
