(Worthy News) – A Christian missionary and former US Army Special Forces and Ranger officer has reported that the Taliban in Afghanistan appear to have carried out mass executions since the US withdrawal last month, the Christian Post (CP) reports.
David Eubank of the Free Burma Rangers missionary organization said the Taliban are hunting people down, and that he has seen photographs of 30-40 people being executed at one time.
Free Burma Rangers (FBR) has added Afghanistan to Burma, Sudan, and Kurdistan, Iraq as countries where it is helping vulnerable and oppressed people in numerous ways, CP reports. Eubank is currently in Tajikistan helping Afghans.
While the Taliban have reportedly been allowing American citizens to leave, Eubank said: “They are hunting down people right now, trying to get all the names of anyone they perceive as an enemy. People who work with the U.S. government, people who are with other governments, people who work with non-governmental organizations they don’t agree with.”
“Many have been executed. … I’ve seen recent photos of 30 to 40 people [being executed],” Eubank added. Although he does not know the scale of the executions, Eubank said: “ I believe it’s countrywide now.”
On its website FBR has issued a call for prayer: “We pray for the people of Afghanistan: that they would feel the saving love of Jesus, that they would know how to escape or where to go to stand, that the Taliban would feel God’s love and repent or be confused and ineffective, that the international community would do the right thing to help the people there, and that all of us would be praying and doing what God wants.”
