(Worthy News) –
The Students for Life of America (SLA) anti-abortion group held a counter-demonstration outside the US Supreme Court last week, protesting against a “Self-Managed Abortion Teach-In” rally led by the Reproaction pro-choice group, the Christian Post (CP) reports. In an effort to provide a “counter-voice” to the pro-choice narrative, SLA is planning to hold demonstrations at other pro-choice events in the coming weeks.

Reproaction had organized its rally on September 9, to teach what they say are the benefits of the “abortion pill,” a drug which can be taken at home to induce abortion in the earliest stages of pregnancy, CP reports.
A speaker for Reproaction said at the rally: “We will not stop until each person in this country has full reproductive self-determination. We are standing up for abortion, we are standing up for gender justice, and we are not going to stop.”

In response, Students for Life activists held up prominent signs with messages including” Signs held by pro-life counter-protesters included messages such as “Dear Women, the abortion industry is lying to you,” “Chemical abortion hurts women,” “Chemical Abortion is 4x more dangerous than surgical abortion,” “Chemical abortion is death by mail” and “Fetal poisoning is wrong.”

Commenting on the rally to the Christian Post, Tina Whittington, executive vice president of Students for Life of America, said: “Wherever there’s going to be this abortion narrative, we want to be there as a light … to bring in the pro-life narrative.” Students for Life of America is planning another counter-protest at the Women’s March event in Washington DC on October 2, CP said.
