Britain Police Say Gunman Killed 5 People In Six Minutes

(Worthy News) – British police have revealed the identity of a gunman saying Jake Davison killed five people, including a young girl, in Plymouth late Thursday.
The licensed firearms holder shot two women, two men, and the 3-year-old girl in the Keyham area of the southwest city on Thursday evening. Davison, 22, then used the gun to kill himself.
He carried out the deadly spree in just six minutes, police officials said.
The shooting started at about 6 p.m. on Thursday, first killing a 51-year-old woman whom Davison knew in a house. He then ran outside and immediately shot dead the young girl in the street along with her 43-year-old male relative.
Davison shot at two other passers-by who were severely injured, then entered a park and shot dead another man before killing another woman.
“DEFEATED BY LIFE”
The attack, the worst mass shooting in Britain since 2010, was not terror-related, according to investigators
More details emerged Friday about the possible motives of the gunman, who appeared a troubled young man. In online videos, Davison reportedly spoke of being “beaten down” and “defeated by life.”
Davison had complained of not losing his virginity as a teenager and called himself an “incel” – or involuntary celibate.
His remarks come amid broader concerns within conservative Christian circles about the “highly sexualized society” in Britain and beyond, which they say affects love and relationships.
Britain has suffered several deadly militant attacks in the past several years. But this was the worst mass killing of its kind since a taxi driver killed 12 people then shot himself in a rampage in Cumbria, northern England, in June 2010.
WORST MASS SHOOTING
The deadliest mass shooting in Britain’s modern history was the 1996 massacre in Dunblane, Scotland, when a gunman killed 16 pupils and a teacher at the local school before killing himself.
In general, gun violence is low in Britain, with relatively few licensed gun owners.
Following Thursday’s shooting, Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer said police had found no motive.
They were not considering terrorism or any far-right associations.
But police going through Davison’s computer. “We believe we have an incident that is domestically related, that has spilled into the street. And seen several people within Plymouth losing their lives in an extraordinarily tragic circumstance,” Sawyer said.
