Biden: ‘Simply Un-American’ for States to Pass Voting Reforms That Boost Election Security
(Worthy News) – On a trip to Tulsa where he focused on racial hatred and division, President Joe Biden brought up voting rights and the Democrats’ push to pass H.R. 1, a bill that would relax voting rules and give the federal government more control over how states and localities run their elections.
Democrats continue to make the case that Republican state legislatures are specifically trying to suppress the black vote by requiring voter identification, for example, or by eliminating the unsolicited mailing of ballots to everyone on the voter registration rolls, which often are outdated.
“We must find the courage to change the things we know we can change,” Biden said, as he discussed his administration’s expanded effort to boost “black wealth creation” through housing and jobs programs. [ Source: CNS News (Read More…) ]
America The Outlier: Voter Photo IDs Are The Rule In Europe And Elsewhere
Democrats and much of the media are pushing to make permanent the extraordinary, pandemic-driven measures to relax voting rules during the 2020 elections – warning anew of racist voter “suppression” otherwise.
Yet democracies in Europe and elsewhere tell a different story – of the benefits of stricter voter ID requirements after hard lessons learned.
Of 47 nations surveyed in Europe — a place where, on other matters, American progressives often look to with envy — all but one country requires a government-issued photo voter ID to vote. The exception is the U.K., and even there voter IDs are mandatory in Northern Ireland for all elections and in parts of England for local elections.
